This is a discussion topic my teacher wants us to answer and I do not understand what she wants from it... any help will be appreciated. If you look up the definition of absolute in the dictionary, you’ll find several definitions. All of them reference totality, completeness, and having no limitations or dependence on anything else.

The definition of the absolute value of a number is its magnitude, or distance, from zero. How do these two definitions connect?
