1. One way to identify congruent triangles is to prove that their matching sides have the
same length. Triangle CDE has vertices at C(1,4), D(1, 1) and E (5, 1).
a) Graph triangle CDE
b) Find the length of side DC and side DE.
c) Reflect triangle CDE over the y-axis then translate it 2 units left. Label the
vertices of the image C'D'E'. Write the coordinates of the vertices of triangle
C'D'E
d) Find the length of side D'C' and side D'E'.
e) Using a piece of patty paper, determine if side CE is the same length as side
C'E'.
f) Are the two triangles congruent?
