Why might the statistics calculated by examining a sample not accurately represent a population? Bias can be introduced when selecting the samples to be measured. Statistics are used to describe a sample but are not a proxy for population parameters. Sample statistics are measured in animals, whereas population parameters are measured in plants. If the sample size is very large, the sample statistics are less likely to approximate the population parameters.
