A medical researcher designs a study that will investigate the effects of a new drug on lowering patient's cholesterol level. The researcher randomly
selects participants for two groups. One group is given the new drug and the
other group is given a placebo. Any person, within driving distance of the
hospital, is allowed to participate and will be given a monetary compensation.
