There are 171 students taking one of the three music classes at Lincoln High School. There are 84 in orchestra, 65 in band, and 22 in choir. None of the students are
taking more than one music class. Eight of these students need to be chosen to
represent the music program. The easiest way to choose the 8 students is to pick the
names randomly from all the music students.
Part 1: Does the simulation show that randomly
selecting names will result in at least I choir member
being chosen?
O yes
Ono
Part 2: Select a reason for your answer.
The teachers want to make sure that this selection method will result in at least 1
choir member being chosen. To test the selection method, a simulation is run where
different values correspond to orchestra, band, and choir members. Each simulation
trial includes 8 values being generated to represent the 8 individuals who are
randomly selected. The simulation is run 100 times, and the dot plot shows how
many choir members were selected within each trial.
O A. One choir member being chosen is the most
frequent distribution
OB.
Number of Choir Members Selected per Simulation Trial
32% of the simulation trials result in no choin
members being chosen.
The simulation shows that it is possible for up
to 4 choir members to be chosen
OD
Over half of the simulation trials result in at
least I choir member being chosen
8

An optical inspection system is used to distinguish among different part types. the probability of a correct classification of any part is 0.92. suppose that three parts are inspected and that the classifications are independent. let the random variable x denote the number of parts that are correctly classified. determine the probability mass function of x. round your answers to four decimal places (e.g. 98.7654). x f(x) 0 1 2 3

You have learned about the six trigonometric functions, their definitions, how to use them, and how to represent them graphically. the sine, cosine, and tangent trigonometric functions can be paired with their reciprocal functions, cosecant, secant, and cotangent, respectively. think about how each function is related to its reciprocal function.how are the graphs of the reciprocal functions related to their corresponding original functions? what happens to the graphs of the reciprocal functions as x approaches the zeros of the original functions? describe how you would teach friends with different learning styles (visual-spatial, aural-auditory, verbal-linguistic, physical-bodily-kinesthetic, logical-mathematical, social-interpersonal, and solitary-intrapersonal) how to graph the reciprocal functions
