Ilooked though all my notes and i couldn't find anything to me answer this. the question is : a ferris wheel has a radius of 80 ft. two particular cars are located such that the central angle between them is 165 degrees. to the nearest tenth, what is the length of the intercept arc between those two cars on the ferris wheel?

The reason you didn't find anything in your High school notes that
can help is that everything you need to answer this one is stuff
you learned in Middle school.

Forget about the big wheel and the sunshine and the cotton candy.
Also, if you're doing any trigonometry or pre-calculus, ignore that too.

-- You have a circle whose radius is  80-ft.

-- Its circumference is (2pi) x (80)  =  160 pi ft.

-- Two points on the circle mark a central angle of 135 degrees.
135 degrees is  ( 135 / 360 ) of a full circle.

-- So the length of the arc between the points is  ( 135 / 360 ) of the
full circumference.

           ( 135 / 360 ) x ( 160 π feet)  =  70.69 feet  (rounded)

The coordinates of point a right now is (-3,-1) you have to multiply these coordinates by a factor of 2 to get (-6,-2)
