my answer is they aren't congruent. i just need explaining why. can someone develop a better and detailed answer and explain to me how you got there so i can understand as well? : )

congruent means that both shapes are similar. If you check each side they are similar but the shape is fliped, This shows that they are related (similar).

 The easiest way to find whether they are congruent is to apply Pythagoras for each of the "hypotenuse" of the related right triangles:

AB² = √(1+2²) = AB =√5, follow the same logic for all the other hypotenuses.
BC = √5
CD =√20
AD=√10

Now let's apply the same principle for EFGH:
EF =√5
GF =√5
HG =√20
HE =√10

We notice that the 2 figures are CONGRUENT since all related and respective sides are equal.
