How would you do the top one and explain

These notes probably could help better than i can explain it to you..but basically if its asking for the shaded area of the figure you would look at what shape it was then on the formula chart i took a pic of what the area is for that shape..or if its the total shape you can look on the chart as well and it will give you the formula for the shape..hope that makes sense..im learing the same thing kinda..
