                           3x² + 6x + 7

       x-2   |  3x³ + 0x² - 5x + k

                 3x³ - 6x

                          6x² -  5x

                          6x² - 12x

                                   7x  + k

                                   7x  - 14

                                            0    remainder is 0 if k = - 14

when I graphed   3x³ - 5x -14   and   (x-2)(3x² +6x +7)  the graphs were equivalent
