Ravi has $300 in savings and is earning $12 per hour at his job. Abha has $240 in savings and is earning $15 per hour at her job. Assume that they work the same number of hours and that all of their future job
income is put into savings.
A. Using the descriptions of money earned and saved for both Ravi and Abha, write a system of equations.
Define your variables.
B. Using the system of equations from part A, find and explain the number of hours of work it takes for Abha
to have the same amount of money in savings as Ravi has. Find the solution algebraically and show your
work.
C. Using the system of equations from part A, graph the equations to determine the number of hours of work
it takes for Abha to have the same amount of money in savings as Ravi. Explain the key feature in your
graph that provides the solution to the problem.
