Look at it like this, let's say that with this 4x, x = 10. This means.. 4x = 4(10) = 40. right? okay. so.. what if we divide this 40 by 4? kind of like the fraction I wrote to the top-left. what would we get, and what do we notice? (keep in mind what I said in the beginning of this message. this an example that demonstrated why 4x ÷ 4 = x
