The Cobbler Turned Doctor

A Cobbler, unable to make a living by mending shoes, began to practice medicine. He had no knowledge of medicine, but he sold a drug that he pretended could cure all poisons. One day, the Cobbler fell ill, and the Governor of the town wanted to test the Cobbler's skill. The Governor asked for a cup, and while filling it with water, he pretended to mix poison with the Cobbler's medicine. The Governor commanded the Cobbler to drink from the cup.
