When you use a photocopier to enlarge an image, the whole image becomes bigger by a certain percentage. In this problem, the biggest the enlargement can go each time is 140%. For example, a one inch segment can be turned into a 1.4 inch segment. The picture above shows two circles. The photocopier had to be used twice to get from the first image to the second image.
