A grocery store sells bananas for b dollars a pound and grapes for g dollars a pound.
Priya buys 2.2 pounds of bananas and 3.6 pounds of
grapes for $9.35.
Andre buys 1.6 pounds of bananas and 1.2 pounds of
grapes for $3.68.
This situation is represented by the system of
equations:
equation 1: 2.2b +3.6g = 9.35
equation 2: 1.65 +1.2g = 3.68
Explain why it makes sense in this situation that the
solution of this system is also a solution to
3.86 + 4.8g = 13.03.

To Find : Relationship between equations for price of bananas & grapes.

Given : Price of banana B, grapes G  = b, g dollars per pound respectively. And, Bananas & Grapes bought by Priya & Andres.  

Expenditure equations : ( B x b ) + ( G x g ) = Expenditure

Solving these two equations is similar to solving:  Priya' & Andre' Total Expenditure { ie 9.35 + 3.68 = 13.03 } equation

Total bananas (Priya & Andre) = 2.2 + 1.6 = 3.8

Total grapes (Priya & Andre) = 3.6 + 1.2 = 4.8

So, final equation : 3.8 b + 3.8 g = 13.03

well there are two answers for that.

1: you need 120 ones then that will equal up to 120.

2: you could also do one 100 and 2 tens.
