This question can be done in two steps:

1. Take 25% of 48. This can be done by multiplying 25%, or 0.25 by 48. 0.25 times 48 equals 12. Therefore you have to increase this order by 12 cookies

2. To find out how many cookies you need to make total, you add the amount from last year, 48, to the 25% increase you need for this year, 12. 48 + 12 equals 60

Therefore you have to make 60 cookies this year
