The Foster Family, and the Tyson family, and the O'Jennie family, got together for Thanksgiving, and had a large turkey that could feed all of them, with leftovers to spare. The Fosters had 1/3 of the turkey.
The Tysons had 1/4 of what was left after the Fosters.
The O'Jennies had 1/2 of what was left after the Tysons.

When everyone was finished with the Turkey, there was enough left over to serve 6 people.
