Pour at least 30 mL but less than 50 mL of water into the graduated cylinder (or a
measuring cup that has mL listed on it). Select rocks that are about the same size and
shape. Record the number of rocks placed into the cylinder and the height of the water.
For example, you may add 1 rock to the cylinder and the water level didn’t change. Then
you add 4 more rocks for a total of 5 rocks and now the water level is at 33 mL. Place a
few rocks at a time (at least 1 but no more than 5). You need to record at least 6 data
pairs.
