If you have ever called someone "cool" or would call someone "cool" given the chance what were you trying to say? What aspects made this person "cool"?

I've called someone cool before. Given the chance, I would say "hey, you are pretty cool." Some aspects that may have made this person "cool" is their personality, if they were chill or something like that. Maybe the person helped you, and you feel that they are pretty cool for helping you out. Perspective will differ the meaning of this word, and younger generations might think of "cool" as a compliment, while older generations might think cool means cold.  Society portrays this word in many different ways, and all of them, in my opinion are right.
