Everyone sits in a big circle in chairs numbered 1 through 524 going clockwise. The person in chair 1 goes first and eliminates their neighbor on the left, chair 2, from the game. The student in chair 2 leaves the circle and takes their chair with them, shrinking the circle. Now play passes to the left, and the person in chair 3 gets their turn. They eliminate their neighbor on the left, chair 4, who leaves the circle and takes their chair with them. Play continues like this, with each player eliminating their closest neighbor on the left and making the circle smaller. This goes on until there is just one person left, who is the winner.
