Scenario:
A statistics teacher at a large high school wondered if there was an association between a
student's course grade (A, B, or C) and whether or not the student did at least 30 minutes of
homework each night. The teacher surveyed all the students and recorded each student's course
grade and whether or not they did 30 minutes of homework each night. The results showed that
the probability that a randomly selected student's grade is a C is 0.20, the probability that a
randomly selected student did at least 30 minutes of homework is 0.70, and the probability that a
randomly selected student's grade is a C and the student did at least 30 minutes of homework is
0.07.
Part I
(a) Construct a Venn diagram of the probabilities from the teacher's survey.
