Instructions For this activity, you will need two coins. First, you will determine the theoretical probability of events. Then, you will flip the coins 100 times and determine the experimental probability of the events.
Flip two coins 100 times, and record the results of each coin toss in a table like the one below:
Result
Frequency
Two heads
  26
Two tails
  30
one head, one tail
  44
Answer the following questions based on the data you gathered. You must show your work to receive credit.
1.What is the theoretical probability that a coin toss results in two heads showing? I think that the probability that a coin toss results in 2 heads showing is a 1/4 percent.
2.What is the experimental probability that a coin toss results in two heads showing? The experimental probability that a coin toss will result in two heads showing would be 26/100 which would equal to 13/50. I know that this needs to be my answer because I rolled 2 heads 26 times out of 100.
3.What is the theoretical probability that a coin toss results in two tails showing? The probability that a coin toss results in 2 tails showing is 44/100 because I rolled 2 tails 44 times out of 100. But it will also be 22/50.
4. What is the experimental probability that a coin toss results in two tails showing. 30/100 = 3/10. I got this because I got 2 tails 30 times out of 100 rolls.

5.What is the theoretical probability that a coin toss results in one head and one tail showing? The theatrical probability of a coin toss resulting in 1 head and one tail will be 1/4 each and together 2/4.
6.What is the experimental probability that a coin toss results in one head and one tail showing? The experimental probability that a coin toss in one head one tail showing is 44/100 .
7. Compare the theoretical probabilities to your experimental probabilities. Why might there be a difference?
