They obtained 95 normal and 54 shriveled progeny. Do these data support the hypothesized model? Consider the two hypotheses H0 : p = 3/4 and HA : p 6= 3/4, and a significance level α = 0.01. You are going to perform the test in two equivalent ways. (a) A χ 2 test: compute the expected number of observations e1 and e2 under the null hypothesis, compute the chi-squared statistic, anc compare it with a critical value; also find the p-value. (b) A two-sided test of proportions; compute the p-value as well: you should get the same p-value as in part (a).
