1) An underlying principle of statistical inference is that one uses sample statistics to learn something about population parameters. Go to the web and find an example where someone has tried to use a sample to make inference about a population. Write a short paragraph describing the example and clearly identify the sample, population, statistic, and parameter in your example. Was it a probability sample or a convenience sample? Be as specific as possible, and do not use an example that we have discussed in class.
