Now that that's set, Let's solve!

Company A:

c = 12(50)          [solve]

c = 600

So the cost of the book bags for Company A is $600.

Company B:

c = 8.25b + 55           [substitute in values]

c = 8.25(50) + 55       [solve]

c = 412 + 55               [solve]

c = 467.50

So the cost of the book bags for Company B is $467.50.

Company C:

c = 8b + 100               [substitute in values]

c =   8(50) + 100         [solve]

c = 400 + 100             [solve]

c = 500

So the cost of the book bags for Company C is $500.

Company D:

c = 15b - 55              [substitute in values]

c = 15(50) - 55          [solve]

c = 750 - 55              [solve]

So the cost of the book bags for Company D is $695.

The least expensive company was Company B, and the most expensive company was Company D. (Not that you were asking).
