The sum of three consecutive even numbers is 78 , what is the first number

So,  here is how I do it.  I take the big number (78) and divide it by the amount of numbers (3).  78/3=26.  The answer you get from that is the middle number.  Then I take the number before it and the number after it (25 and 27).  These are your first and last numbers.  25 is the first number
