This is confusing. The way I'm reading this is we don't know how much Tim has, but then we do? It's 70$ and if Rebecca has times the amount til has which would mean 70 x 70 then $6 less which is $4894 then we add how much tin apparently has to that which equals $4964 they both have together in total which looks like this...

70x70 - 6 +70 = T(total)

I'm not sure if I read the question how it was suppose to but maybe this helps.
