Explain the differences in a citizen’s right to an attorney and the citizen’s right to notice he can have an attorney when:
- stopped and questioned by the police on the street based on reasonable suspicion;
- arrested by the police and put in jail based on probable cause, and;
- when formally charged/indicted.
Why do we make these distinctions (what purpose does it serve)?
Do these rights go too far, or do they not far enough?
