Who was sobek in egyptian mythology

Sobek was worshipped bye the Ancient Egyptians to please him and the crocodiles. They also had to worship them to receive fertile crops for their land.  Sobek was called the Lord of Faiyum, and was considered the god who controlled the waters. The Nile was important to the Egyptians, so Sobek was important to them.
