Who supported amendment 22? why did they support it? what events in history led to it’s ratification?

The twenty-second admendment was set up so that no one president can serve more than two terms. 

The citizens of America supported the 22nd admendment, because after Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served 4 terms (due to his popularity, the Great Depression, and WWII), the US citizens were afraid that the government would soon turn into a totalitarian state (in which one person rules).
