We all know, England gained an early start for industrialization through the Industrial Revolution. This changed the modern economies and the manner in which they worked leading to capitalism, colonialism and imperialism in the later stages.

People generally give credit to the natural resources( coal and iron) and the various policies for this. However there is one thing that not all people remember to give credit to the tea.

Raw material for the industries

Slaves; for working in the other colonies(read Africa and West Indies)These were the huge resources, which were not available to other colonial powers of the time. This became a big reason why Britain got an advantage over others in building an empire.
