These entrepreneurs or merchant capitalists didn't have experience but had an access to the capital that was needed to operate on a large scale. They knew how to organize production and distribute goods. These entrepreneurs didn't put up factories but they broke the production process into subparts and then hired semi-skilled laborers in small shops to produce individual components of the product.
