Vancouver Island is a piece of land belonging to the Canadian province of British Columbia, the westernmost province of Canada, and is the largest island on the West Coast of North America, with 460 km long and 50-120 km wide.
This island is part of a partially submerged chain of the Western Cordillera and is a continuation of the U.S. coastal mountain.
