Can someone me with this? no soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. since it is not legal for military to invade someone's home outside the limits of the law, citizens are protected from an unjust military. since the military is above the law, this amendment gives citizens some power to protect what they own. it prevents citizens from being required to provide service during a military action or times of civil unrest. it protects citizens from being part of a military action during times of peace but not during times of war.
