What does separation between the church and state mean

Separation of church and state means that he govern should maintain  neutrality toward religion. Many believe that  this idea is reinforced by the first amendment, as the first amendment allows the citizen the freedom for practicing religion of their choice and also prevents the government from favoring any religion. The relation between the government and the church have been controversial since the first sellers came to America and many cases has been dealt by the supreme court.

during the 20th century, the role of the vice president has evolved into more of an executive branch position. now, the vice president is usually seen as an integral part of a president's administration and presides over the senate only on ceremonial occasions or when a tie-breaking vote may be needed.

john locke is most associated with the idea of consent of the governed which is the idea that the government is only valid if it has the consent of the people who are being governed.
