This plan was presented by William Paterson and this proposal was related to the structure and working of the government of the United States. The introduction of The New Jersey plan came in response to the Virginia plan as according to that plan, Two houses of Congress were required and members of both these houses were to be elected and appointed according to the population. The states which were having a low population were against the Virginia plan as they opposed it by stating that the Virginia plan will give most of the control and powers of the government to the states who had more population.
