Why did the era supporters feel the equal rights amendment was nessarry

Because they understood that humans are all equal and they know what it's like to be discriminated against.

Diversity is human Strength.

They thought the Equal rights amendment was necessary, because they saw that people groups still didn't have equal rights in the US.

However, we already have sets of laws that have to do with Equal Rights. We just don't follow them closely enough.
