During his reign he led military campaigns against Syrians, Hittites, Nubians and libyans. He is well known for rebuilding,  many of the old temples and also erecting many of the new structures.  Ramesseum, Abu Simbel, Pi-Ramesses are some of the building constructed during his reign. All these building are evidences of the prosperity during his rule. He died at age of 90 and was buried in the Valley of the Kings.
