Who was Francisco Franco?

Francisco Franco was the fascist dictator of Spain during WW2 until his death in 1975. Unlike the other dictators at the time, Franco decided to remain neutral after the long-fought civilwar in Spain and fear of the Axis Powers failing. Franco came to power in 1939 after overthrowing the government in a civil war against Republican Spain.
