What new technology was developed during the zhou dynasty?

Literature, recreation, and everyday life were improved by inventions during the Zhou Dynasty. Kites were invented during this period, as was an improved version of the written script. Medical records and reports were established during the Zhou Dynasty.  

i think it was because of how protected egyptian civilization was was which allowed them to evolve without much outside influence.
