Directions: An editorial is an article that gives an opinion on an event or issue. Imagine that you are an editor for a newspaper in the time of revolutionary France. Your job is to write an editorial about what is happening in France. Do you think the French Revolution was a true revolution?
Steps:
Choose three important events of the French Revolution.
Then, explain in 2–3 sentences why each event was important to the revolution. You will have at least 6–9 sentences in total for this step.
Explain in 2–3 sentences whether you think that the French Revolution was really a revolution. Support your opinion with evidence, details from the lesson. It is possible to argue this point either way; there is no one right answer.
Finally, give your editorial an expert design. It could be in a word processing document or other format. You can be creative! Just be sure to include:
2–3 sentences for each event about why it was important to the revolution
2–3 sentences explaining your opinion and support it with evidence
a creative design for your editorial that includes one picture
