In John Locke’s Two Treatises of Government he mentions the following: a. A Prince must be feared rather than loved, he must exhibit mercy honesty, uprightness and religiousness, even if he doesn’t mean it

b.    Peace should be sought, when it can’t be obtained war begins, to have peace we must give up certain rights, contracts are made to be kept; power must be given to an assembly or person to ensure laws are maintained

c. Contract or Consent is the basis for government and sets its limits, Moral law is always valid, All men are born free and equal, civil society must set rules to punish transgressors to maintain order

d.    Men are born free and are forever free and equal, a nation is based on the people, a nation can only have those rights granted to it by the people
