Domestic terrorism is not taken as seriously in the United States because the U.S. is generally regarded as a safe country. There are less threats since the USA holds many alliances with other countries and since there is a strong military. The United States also has more devloped technology so this also leads people to believe that their country is safer than it really is. However, since the 9/11 attack on the world trade center, terrorism has had to encounter many more security measures, especially in airports.
