In my opion workers were justified for striking against the Pullman the reasons for the strike were the absenteeism of democracy within the town of Pullman and its politics, the rigid condescending control of the workers by the company, uncontrolled water and gas rates, and a denial by the company to allow workers to purchase and own houses. They had not formed a union yet.
