Exploring: When we say that a thing is beautiful, or that we believe something is good, do we really understand the full meaning of the term? Defining beauty or goodness is a difficult task for anyone. How do we determine what is true? Is it possible we see only a portion of what is real? Take a chair, for instance. Is the chair you are looking at reality, or is the idea of a chair reality? The chair will last until the wood rots or the metal rusts, but the idea of a chair will last forever. The chair we see is a concrete representation of an abstract idea. What is eternity and how can we grasp this concept? These questions have been studied by philosophers through the ages.

What do you believe? Is it possible to ever know absolutely what is true and just and good?
