Passage 2: Editorial written by the president of the National Rifle Association (NRA) The Federal Gun Control Act is an insult to the American people and the U. S. Constitution. The Second Amendment fully protects every American's right to own whatever guns he or she desires. Not only will this law violate the Second Amendment by banning certain weapons, it will also seek to punish patriotic Americans who refuse to comply with these new regulations. Even worse, it will strip law-abiding Americans of their right to protect themselves. Criminals certainly won't obey the new law - so they'll be the only ones left with guns, while American families will be unarmed and helpless. You'll be glad to know that the NRA has filed a lawsuit against the federal government to have this unjust law overturned.
