The United States lost several of its ships and planes during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Why did the American military recover from this attack rather easily? 1: American soldiers were much more determined than Japanese soldiers.
2: No American military leaders killed in the attack--only enlisted, unskilled soldiers.
3: Vital supplies and fuel were not destroyed by the Japanese attack--only ships and airplanes.
4: Americans knew about the attack ahead of time and sent most of their ships out to sea.
