What is the best map of the earth? Why is this the best map?

There is no ‘best’ map for all situations. There is just a map that’s best for your purposes.

Planning a long distance drive? A small scale transport map showing main routes is ideal.

Going for a walk? A larger scale map with contours, terrain information and footpaths is what you need.

Building something? Really large-scale mapping with high accuracy is critical.

Want to understand data geographically? Represent it using a colour system on top of a basic physical map.

The same goes for different map projections, different media and different style layers. One of the skills in both creating and using maps is using he most effective way to represent potentially very complex data in a way that is easy to interpret.

"best map" is more of an opinion, but I like to use g earth depending on what I am doing, It is very detailed.
