Why was Treaty of Versailles seen as a cause of WWII and why the German’s were upset with the terms of peace.

The Treaty of Versailles ended World War I between Germany and the Allied Powers.  Germany was forced to "accept the responsibility" of the war damages suffered by the Allies. The treaty required that Germany pay a huge sum of money called reparations. No one in Germany was happy with the settlement, and the Allies threatened Germans with military invasion to get them to sign the treaty. After four years of war and sacrifice, German citizens felt humiliated to accept blame for the war and territorial loss
