It could be seen from either side. On the positive side it provided means to communicate important news broadcasts quicker which allows for civilians to act fast in the case of an emergency like a tornado. Also, it provided a new side to entertainment for Americans and boosted the amount of money in the economy. On the other side, television lessened face to face communication which is necessary in being successful at a job as you need to communicate. Plus it cause distractions in people where they should be working or studying but they just push it off until it is too late.
