What can be done at a scene of a mysterious death to reconstruct what happened?

There are many things. A CSI has to take pictures and notes about everything found at the crime scene. They also have to take samples of any biological matter found at the scene. It is also necessary to dust the entire crime scene for finger prints and search for any types of fibers or hair or footprints or anything similar.
